Preserving Heritage. Connecting Generations.
Culture gives us a sense of identity, belonging, and connection to the generations who came before us.
Living thousands of miles from Nepal has made me appreciate even more the importance of preserving our language, traditions, festivals, food, music, rituals, and community values.
My involvement in cultural activities in Colorado is driven by a simple belief: our heritage should not end with our generation.
HERITAGE
Celebrating Newah Culture in Colorado

COMMUNITY & CULTURAL LEADERSHIP
Colorado Newah Khala
Through Colorado Newah Khala, I have had the opportunity to work alongside families, volunteers, community leaders, organizations, and supporters to preserve and celebrate Newah heritage in Colorado.
Our cultural programs create opportunities for people to reconnect with their roots while introducing younger generations and the broader community to traditions that have been passed down for centuries.

TRADITION · COMMUNITY · CELEBRATION
Indra Jatra
Indra Jatra is one of the most important cultural celebrations of the Kathmandu Valley and an important expression of Newah heritage.
Helping organize and celebrate Indra Jatra in Colorado allows our community to recreate a meaningful connection with home while sharing our culture with friends, neighbors, and future generations.

HERITAGE · IDENTITY · NEW BEGINNING
Nepal Sambat
Nepal Sambat represents an important part of Nepal’s historical and cultural identity and holds particular significance within the Newah community.
Celebrating Nepal Sambat in Colorado helps preserve awareness of our history while creating an opportunity for families to gather and begin a new year together.
WHY CULTURE MATTERS
More Than a Celebration
A cultural event may last only a few hours, but its impact can extend much further.
When children see traditional clothing, hear their language, experience music and dance, participate in rituals, enjoy traditional foods, and hear the stories behind a festival, culture becomes something they can experience rather than something they only read about.
That connection becomes especially important for generations growing up outside Nepal.
CULTURAL VOLUNTEERISM
Keeping Heritage Alive
Cultural traditions survive because one generation is willing to teach and share them with the next.
Through programs such as Indra Jatra and Nepal Sambat, I have had the opportunity to work alongside dedicated volunteers, families, community organizations, sponsors, and local partners.
The goal is not simply to organize an event. It is to create a place where younger generations can experience their heritage and where the broader community can celebrate together.
OUR PURPOSE
Culture Across Generations
i.
Preserve
Keep meaningful Newah traditions, festivals, language, customs, and cultural knowledge alive.
ii.
Educate
Help younger generations understand not only what we celebrate, but also why those traditions matter.
iii.
Connect
Bring families, elders, youth, volunteers, organizations, and the wider Colorado Nepali community together.
iv.
Share
Introduce Newah and Nepali culture to friends, neighbors, and the broader American community.
COMMUNITY RECOGNITION
Newah Day in Colorado
An especially meaningful milestone for our community has been the recognition of Newah Day in Colorado.
Such recognition represents more than a ceremonial moment. It reflects the growing presence, contribution, and cultural identity of the Newah community while creating greater awareness of our heritage beyond our own community.

PHILOSOPHY
Heritage Is Something We Pass On
Culture survives when people practice it, teach it, celebrate it, and make room for the next generation to participate. Our responsibility is not simply to remember where we came from. It is to make sure our children and grandchildren have an opportunity to understand it too.
“We may build our lives in a new country, but we do not have to leave our heritage behind. Our greatest responsibility is to carry the best of our culture forward and pass it to the next generation.”
— MANOJ TULADHAR
EVENTS & PROGRAMS
Bringing People Together to Learn, Grow & Celebrate
Some of the most meaningful experiences happen when people come together.
Throughout my journey, I have been involved in professional training, financial education, leadership development, community programs, and cultural celebrations. Each event may have a different purpose, but they share one goal: bringing people together around knowledge, growth, relationships, culture, and community.
WHY EVENTS MATTER
Connection Creates Opportunity
Events are about more than filling a room.
A seminar can introduce someone to a new career. A training can give a new professional confidence. A leadership meeting can change someone’s perspective. A financial workshop can help a family ask better questions.
And a cultural celebration can help a child growing up thousands of miles from Nepal understand where their family came from. That is why bringing people together matters.

CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS
PHILOSOPHY
Every Gathering Should Create Value
Whether the audience is ten people or hundreds, I believe every event should leave participants with something valuable — new knowledge, a useful connection, greater confidence, cultural pride, or an idea they can put into action.
“A successful event is not measured only by how many people attend. It is measured by what people learn, experience, and carry forward after they leave.”
— MANOJ TULADHAR

LOOKING FORWARD
Culture for the Next Generation
My hope is that years from now, our children and grandchildren will not see Newah culture simply as something their parents or grandparents practiced.
I hope they will see it as part of their own identity — something they understand, value, celebrate, and eventually pass forward themselves.
That is how heritage becomes legacy.
